Our Leadership
Dr. Sunil Kumar Sarangi
Chief Executive Officer, XCEED
Sunil Kumar Sarangi is a leadership and entrepreneurship expert with over 20 years of corporate and industry experience. As the CEO of XCEED, he has been instrumental in mentoring startups, building strategic industry connections, and fostering entrepreneurial growth.
He has worked with Goldman Sachs, Oracle, IndianOil, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel, and TATA Steel, designing and leading leadership programs for senior executives. He has mentored 5,000+ entrepreneurs and professionals, helping businesses scale and improve decision-making.
A member of the Governing Body of Jamshedpur Management Association, he has also advised State Bank of India’s Governing Board on Customer Experience Management (CXM). His expertise spans leadership, startup strategy, and neuro-communication, making him a driving force behind XCEED’s vision to empower founders and create a thriving startup ecosystem.

Our Journey
The Beginning
XCEED started as a mentorship and awareness initiative at XLRI Jamshedpur, focused on empowering aspiring entrepreneurs. Through outreach programs, workshops, and school-level initiatives, we aimed to build a culture of innovation and inspire people to pursue entrepreneurship.
Restructuring for Launch
Recognizing the need for a structured approach, we undertook a comprehensive restructuring of XCEED, setting up key processes, governance models, and a roadmap to transition from an informal initiative to a full-fledged startup incubator.
First Startup Incubated
A major milestone in our journey was incubating our first startup, marking the transition from being just an enabler to actively supporting and nurturing ventures. This success reinforced our belief in structured incubation and the need for hands-on support to help founders navigate early-stage challenges.
Live Projects & Corporate Engagement
Recognizing the potential of XLRI's talent pool, we launched Live Projects, allowing startups to solve real business challenges with the help of MBA students. At the same time, we built corporate partnerships and industry collaborations, to enable startups to get exposure to real-world business scenarios.
Impact & Expansion
Today, XCEED is a growing startup ecosystem, connecting founders with mentors, investors, industry leaders, and XLRI's vast alumni network. As we continue to expand, we remain committed to fueling innovation, offering incubation support, and building the next generation of successful startups.
